Comcare - HEALTH & SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE (HSR) TRAINING

If you’re an elected Health and Safety Representative (HSR) working in a Comcare-regulated workplace, you are entitled to complete the approved 5-day Comcare HSR Training course under the Commonwealth Work Health and Safety Act. This nationally recognised course, delivered by Dowell Solutions, equips HSRs with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to represent their work group effectively. Through practical, engaging training, you’ll learn your WHS powers, responsibilities, and how to contribute to a safer workplace.

Once you’ve completed this 5-day course, you’re entitled to attend annual Comcare HSR Refresher Training. If you’re based in NSW or ACT, see our NSW HSR Training or ACT HSR Training.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Comcare Health and Safety Representative (HSR) Training course is designed for Federal Government agencies or those who are employed by a Comcare self-insured licensee

It aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfil their role as Health & Safety Representatives (HSRs) and influence health and safety outcomes in their workplace.

Dowell Solutions is an ‘Approved Provider’ and Kylie Dowell the ‘Nominated Trainer’ by Comcare that meets the qualification and industry experience requirements to deliver HSR training in the Commonwealth jurisdiction (approval number HSR025).

Upcoming Comcare HSR Course - December 2025

Join our Comcare-approved Health and Safety Representative (HSR) Training this December in Wagga Wagga. This 5-day initial course meets the requirements of the Commonwealth WHS Act 2011 and provides elected HSRs with the skills and confidence to represent their work group.

Health and Safety Representative Role – Comcare HSR Training

On completion, you’ll receive a Comcare HSR Training Certificate of Attendance, approved under the Commonwealth WHS Act. This confirms your training as an HSR and gives you authority to represent your work group on WHS matters in a Comcare-regulated workplace.

Your Comcare HSR Training certificate does not expire. Once completed, it remains valid for your time as an elected Health and Safety Representative. The three-year timeframe relates to your elected term, not the training itself.

Course Content & Requirements – 5 Day Comcare HSR Training

Attendance at all five days of the Comcare HSR Training course is required to meet Commonwealth WHS regulations. If you miss a session, contact us to discuss rescheduling or alternative options.
