Why Commonwealth Workplaces Need Comcare-Trained HSRS

Commonwealth agencies and self-insured organisations operate under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Cth), regulated by Comcare. Elected Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) play a vital role in ensuring workers’ voices are heard, risks are managed, and workplaces remain compliant across the federal system.

Understand the Comcare System

Learn how the Commonwealth WHS Act differs from state systems, and what powers HSRs have under federal legislation.

Represent and Consult Effectively

Develop the skills to raise safety concerns, communicate with PCBUS, and lead consultation in diverse government and self-insured settings.

Strengthen Compliance Across Agencies

Turn legal obligations into practical steps that keep Commonwealth and self-insured workplaces safe, consistent, and audit-ready.

Turn rules into action

Know exactly when and how to act, including PINs and unsafe work.
